No, in most cases you don’t. Burst Statistics is anonymous by default and can run entirely without cookies if you choose. When there is no personal data collected and no cross-site tracking, GDPR generally does not require a consent banner for analytics. That said, every site is different, so check with your own legal setup if you are unsure.
Yes. Burst shows page-level traffic for every URL on your site. You can see total visitors, pageviews, time on page and bounce rate per post. It is one of the most useful views for figuring out which topics your readers actually want more of.
Yes. Burst Statistics is a free WordPress plugin hosted on WordPress.org. There is no trial period, no account required and no expiry date. The free version is genuinely free. There is also Burst Pro for bloggers who want more, like UTM tracking, unlimited goals and geolocation, but that is completely optional.
The free version covers the basics well: visitors, pageviews, referrers, page performance, real-time data and one goal. The Creator plan adds UTM campaign tracking, unlimited goals, URL parameter tracking and geolocation.
