Block bots from count

Either clearly mark bot traffic or block it from count. I haven’t activated yet as I can’t see any reference to bot traffic in your descriptions

  1. Hi @Cezfx,

We do block known crawlers and known bots from tracking. But it is tough to exclude all bot traffic or even mark bot traffic. Other Analytics tools can’t block all bot traffic, and we can’t either. If you have any suggestions on how to improve our data filtering, please give us suggestions.

Our goal is to deliver the cleanest dataset for our users. That’s why we have a default blocklist, and all data shown in the dashboards is excluding bounces. Except for bounces, obviously.

I hope you understand and we’d love to hear some suggestions from you on how to improve the blocking of bot traffic.

    Kind regards,
    Hessel

  2. Thank you. That’s great news. Maybe you could use a honeypot technique to mark traffic from bots that fail to comply with robots.txt ?
